Trains at Oxford, GWML - 5th February 2025
On Wednesday 5th February, my rail advanture officially begins, and I headed up North and visted Oxford Station which is on by Great Western Mainline. It is my very first time at this station, even though I have passed lots of times when I’m going away up North, but never spotted here.
My thoughts Oxford… I enjoyed it, it is a lovely station. I think it’s well organised station, with quite a fair amount of train services and different tractions.
Oxford station kinda reminds me of Havant, as it has long Platform with a footbridge, but it’s bigger as Oxford has a Bay Platform that Chiltern Trains use. It has a few facilities in the booking hall, it has some shops and few coffee stalls.
Views are very good on both ends of the Platform, with tye view of the footbridge on the oine towards Reading, and the line looking towards Banbury, which has Junction & the sidings next to it.
Trains you see in this video are Cross Country Voyagers 220 & 221 GWR Hitachi’s 800, Turbos 165, Chiltern Raillway Turbos 165 & 168, few Freights Class 66, & Class 70, and light Class 37 locomotive.
Overall really enjoyable station to be, will come back in near future.
If you like what you see please give it a like and subscribe if you so wish.
Please feel free to comment in section below.
My next Trains at video will be Banbury which I aim to film next month.
Until then I’ll see you all in next video.
Bye for now. đź‘‹đź‘‹đź‘‹
It features various trains operating in the area, including services from Cross Country and Chiltern Railways. The station is described as well-organised with multiple platforms, facilities, and a range of train services. Views from the platform include the footbridge towards Reading and the line extending towards Banbury. Several train stock numbers are identified, along with headcodes indicating different services passing through the area.
Fishplate has identified 23 locomotives in this video. We’ve also matched 4 headcodes and 10 operators . Create a free account to see where they appear, unlock timestamps and locations, and view the full breakdown.
