Steam Train 34016 Bodmin | Eastleigh 23rd March 2001 | Cosham 20th June 2001
*03:04 Wednesday 20th June 2001* - Steam locomotive 34016 Bodmin is blowing off steam (safety valves) as it heads into Cosham due to a signal check, stopping just inside the platform than at the actual signal as I guess to avoid any people potentially getting on. Then when the gates go down at the level crossing, Bodmin starts to head very slowly in anticipation of the green light, and once clear pulls away. This was the Cathedrals Express steam train special service from Chichester on its return to London Waterloo via Basingstoke.
A steam locomotive, identified as 34016 Bodmin, is shown operating on two occasions in 2001. On 23 March 2001, it ran on an EWS Crew Training Special service known as 'The Cathedrals Express' at Eastleigh, part of a series of training services between Eastleigh and Yeovil Junction. Later, on 20 June 2001, the locomotive was observed at Cosham blowing off steam before proceeding slowly into the station following a signal check. The video includes commentary describing these events, though specific operational details are limited to what is mentioned in the audio.
