Tyne Valley Diverts - DBC Class 67 No. 67003 + Virgin EC MK4 Set - Carlisle 16th September 2017
This is one of four weekends when the East Coast main line services are diverted via the non electrified Tyne Valley route from Carlisle to Newcastle while engineering work takes place on the normal route from Newcastle to Edinburgh via Berwick.
A Class 67 diesel locomotive, numbered 67003, is shown at Carlisle attached to an East Coast MK4 set. The train was operating a diverted service from Glasgow Central to London Kings Cross on 16 September 2017, via Beattock, Carlisle, Tyne Valley, and York. This diversion occurred due to engineering works on the usual route between Newcastle and Edinburgh via Berwick.
