Description
Some video footage of empty and loaded coal trains from the Newcastle and Carlisle areas that I filmed between 2011 and 2013 when coal traffic was still flowing quite regularly on the UK rail network.

Not a common sight these days with the import of Biomass fuel taking over from coal for the major power station, although there a few still around now and again.

The footage shows mainly class 66 diesel locos hauling the coal wagons with a class 70 also on one of the trains.

Thanks very much for watching.

Stay safe - Allan.
