The short-lived Class 210 DMUs
This video features the Class 210 diesel multiple units (DMUs), which were built in Derby in 1980 as a modern replacement for older DMUs on the Southern Region of British Railways. The units, numbered 210 001 and 210 002, were used in trials across the country before entering service in 1982. They operated briefly before being withdrawn in the late 1980s. The footage shows 210 002 at Newbury heading west in 1987. The units were part of a short-lived fleet, with limited operational history.
