Swanage Railway 'Diesel Gala' 08/05/2026
The main star of the line-up was ex British Railways Class 58 58023 “Leicester Depot”, but unfortunately the Class 58 failed on it first outing to Corfe Castle. And was taken out of service to be on display through out the gala.
Two visiting GB Railfreight locos were the Class 73 73141 “Spa Valley Railway 25 Year Anniversary” and Class 99 99004 making the first of the class to visit a heritage line.
Other guess locos in action were British Railways Class 20 20066, Class 26 26007, Class 33 33025 (standing in for Class 45 45041 "Royal Tank Regiment" and not featured in this video) and Class 37 37607.
