Our journey begins at Kidderminster aboard the 10:15 departure to Bridgnorth, hauled by LMS Stanier Mogul No. 13268. We travel as far as Highley, calling at the beautiful stations of Bewdley and Arley along the way.
Whilst at Highley, we witness a variety of railway action, including the Class 108 DMU working towards Kidderminster and the impressive Deltic No. 55009 Alycidon passing through on a special charter organised by the Deltic Preservation Society. The charter operated three round trips between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy one of Britain’s most iconic diesel locomotives in action on the SVR.
After spending time at Highley, we rejoin our train behind Stanier Mogul No. 13268 for the return journey to Kidderminster, bringing to an end another enjoyable day on the Severn Valley Railway.
