70000 RESCUED! Minus her CONROD Britannia heads home with 2 x Class 20's for repairs 9/4/26
Follow up to yesterdays video where Britannia got stranded at Oxenholme. Today we see 70000 rescued by the 2 Class 20s that saved the day yesterday. The pair of 20s went up from Crewe this morning, collected Britannia from Oxenholme, went up to Tebay to run around then returned back down to Crewe with Britannia in tow. If you pay attention at around 01:20 you can see the main conrod has been removed.

A British Railways Class 20 locomotives, numbered 20096 and 20107, assisted the BR Standard Class 7 steam locomotive 70000 Britannia in returning to Crewe after it became stranded at Oxenholme. The pair of Class 20s collected Britannia from Oxenholme, transported it to Tebay for a run-around, and then brought it back to Crewe. The video shows the removal of Britannia’s main conrod during the process. Other equipment involved included a Locomotive Services Limited support coach, and the headcode 5Z70 was used on the journey.
