Both locos unloaded at Newport Docks, from London, Ontario, Canada on July 17th 1999. Next,we follow them to Newport Station Stabling Point and finally on the 21st July their 1st working from Cardiff's Pengam Yard with a long container train to Coatbridge. No doubt both locos came off at Crewe. Interesting to see the reception with photographers etc at Pengam; as well as the 58 in the yard The whole yard has now been demolished and replaced with a new large housing estate. Also the area next to the station at Newport, is now a car park. All just memories in 2022; but at least "I was there!"
