TrainKos: Kosovo Railways in 2022

Kosovo, a country with a dark history but fascinating place to visit along with a nice railway. I visited at the start of October 2022 and took a ride on their one and only train service at the time of recording… Prishtinë - Pëja & return. Just two trains run a day between the two cities using the same loco and stock. The line to Macedonia is closed at present for refurbishment work and all other routes are currently not served. Filming both lineside and onboard, all shots feature loco 2620 016, which is ex Croation 2044 010. The stock is all Ex DB N wagen coaches which have been in used since 2017, although loads of the windows have been smashed by stone throwers! The 2 hour journey cost a mere €4.60. I would have got more thrash recordings but for some reason the security guard on the train thought I was from a TV channel and wanted to see my “documents” and told me to put my camera away, however he was friendly about it and apologised - insisted he was only doing his job. The rest of the staff were very friendly. Freight does usually run but it seems not at present, but I did visit on a Friday afternoon/Saturday.
