12 Mk2 coaches to replace Mk1s for WCR?
Most coaches are ex Caledonian Sleeper / Virgin by looks of it along with a few nicely painted BR blue and grey.
Presumably all stock is CDL to replace Mk1s for the time being?
A Class 57 locomotive is seen pulling a Class 40 and 12 Mk2 coaches along the route from Burton to Carnforth. The coaches appear to be former Caledonian Sleeper or Virgin Trains stock, with some displaying British Railways blue and grey paint schemes. The footage shows the train arriving at Standish on 29 August, likely en route for repaint before being deployed. Some of the Mk2s may temporarily replace older Mk1 carriages in service.
