Keighley & Worth Valley Diesel Gala 2026 - 18/06/2026
This was my first time visiting KWVR & my first time at a Diesel Gala.
I spent the day riding behind the guest locomotives around the Valley. As this was my first time visiting, I didn't know the locations of any decent lineside locations for filming, but it was a lot of fun filming the locomotives from out of the carriage windows.
I was happy I was able to ride behind most of the attending locomotives such as the 31s, 37s, the Deltic and Class 50. The only ones I didn't ride with were the shunters and the 47. For me, the star locomotive was Deltic 55009 'Alycidon'. I had a very enjoyable ride with it between Keighley & Oxenhope with the Deltic running on two engines, and what a sound it made. The 37s also made a fantastic sound as they woked hard.
This was one of the most fun videos I have filmed, and I will hopefully be back here for more galas in the future.
