SVR Heatwave Action! | D9551 Gets a Run Out & Positioning Moves + 47383 LMS Jinty |
In today’s video we’re at Kidderminster Town on the Severn Valley Railway, where the scorching summer heat hasn’t stopped the action behind the scenes.
We first see 09107 hard at work shunting and preparing stock for the upcoming 1940s Weekend. One of the highlights is the unusual movement of LMS Jinty 47383 being brought out of the carriage shed for static display, offering something a little different from the usual operations.
We also catch D9551 “The Bear” carrying out a series of Empty Coaching Stock (ECS) movements ahead of its booked duties. These test and positioning runs allow the locomotive to stretch its legs once again as preparations continue.
Along with these featured locomotives, there’s plenty more fascinating shunting action around the yard, marking the first operational movements since services were suspended due to the extreme heat.
