On the 26th there was quite a consist on the Middleton Towers to Barnby sand train including the fairly new outshopped class 69, 69012 Falcon. In the evening we see class 37, 37884 on its way to Derby from Ilford and at the very end of the day we just managed to get a pair of Colas class 43's on the Network Rail test train in rapidly diminishing daylight. The evening of the 31st saw two failures at the same time, 4E20 1318 Felixstowe South GBRf to Masborough N&W GBRf in New England Yard which was rescued by 66707. Then 66702 failed between Cock Lane and New England Junction, a short distance after passing us on 6L27 1725 Mountsorell GBRf to Whitemoor Yard L.D.C GBRf, blocking the Up Stamford line for around 75 minutes.
