Smethwick Galton Bridge & Smethwick West Junction - 1st February 2024
Firstly we have 43272 & 43062 'John Armitt' on the 1Q23 Stockport to Northampton test train, followed by this week's 5Q94 Longsight to Long Marston TPE stock move with 68027 'Splendid'
The cunning plan was then to head back down the Dark Side to see the 6Q47 Walton Old Junction M.S.C sidings to Long Marston with RailAdventure power cars 43465, 43484, 43480 & 43468 along with brand new Merseyrail Stadler units 777043 & 777045 - I believe for some sort of remedial work ?
However the class 68 was somewhat late, and West Midlands Railways were cancelling trains all over the shop, so we ended up peering over the wall on the A457 Oldbury Rd to see them come out of the tunnel at Smethwick West Junction - not too bad a shot all things considered. The wall is just the wrong height (or I'm the wrong height to lean over it properly) and the road is very noisy...however, something different.
And some 158, 192 & 350 units....
