First HST at 125mph on the WCML: Midland Pullman HST Passing MKC & Cheddington at Speed - 04/03/26
Previously, they were restricted to the non-tilting 110mph limit, but now that the new 'MU' speed boards have been installed on the line (mainly used by the 805/807 Evero units, and soon the Lumo 222s), this enabled the test run to go underway.

A video captures a Class 43 HST, likely numbered 43049 and 43058, running at 125mph on the West Coast Main Line. The footage shows the train passing through Milton Keynes Central and Cheddington stations. The event marks a historic test run for the InterCity 125, which previously operated at a maximum speed of 110mph on this route. The test was made possible by recent upgrades to the line's speed boards. Operators mentioned include Locomotive Services Limited, Avanti West Coast, Blue Pullman, Intercity, and Lumo. Headcodes 1Z43 and 1Z44 are noted in the metadata.
