Waverley Merrymaker Class 50 37s and 57s at Carlisle Plus 90s! 18 July 2026
At lunchtime, the Northern Belle Settle & Carlisle Special, without steam due to the ban, arrived with class 57s. It headed off to Upperby for servicing and turning. It returned to the station to head for Skipton via Carnforth, Skipton, Woodlesford, York, Woodlesford and finally to Skipton to ensure all passengers got the same length of journey!
A decent amount of freight today with Class 90s and 88s. Summer tends to see fewer containers heading to and from Scotland.
