On the 7th January 2003 we had a phone call to say that the Cwmbargoed service passing under the road bridge at Aberthaw had derailed on the points. Arriving just as the lift had been successful we decided to stay and video the operation to clear the site. As well a 37408 other locos were recorded. The signal box remains in 2026 but most of the sidings track has been lifted. I was elsewhere that day so Nick was there to take these images and I have found them 23 years later !
