Steam Peckett 'Pectin' + diesel shunter 'Sam' at the Yeovil Railway Centre for the tractor weekend!
The event saw trains conveying passengers along a 1/3rd of a mile along the ex-Great Western Railway Clifton Maybank branch, where the field was accessed with lots of Tractors and vintage vehicles on display.
Resident steam locomotive Peckett & Sons Ltd 'Pectin' worked with the ex DMU trailer and later on in the day the diesel shunter 'Sam' came out working a diesel shuttle with the brake van and open wagon, before we finish with some scenes of Pectin returning to action after the lunch break, proudly wearing an England headboard. A nice enjoyable event, and a good opportunity for us to travel on the branch for the first time in a while. | 25.07.2026
