For the Fallen WWI Livery! LNER Class 91 Number 91111 For The Fallen Blasts North at Speed

British Rail Class 91 Bo-Bo electric locomotive 91111 was constructed by British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) at Crewe Works in February 1990 (originally numbered 91011 before being renumbered to 91111 under Project Mallard refurbishment in 2001). Built under subcontract to GEC Traction for high-speed InterCity 225 services on the East Coast Main Line, the 81.5-tonne unit features body-mounted GEC G315BZ traction motors designed to minimize unsprung weight on track infrastructure. Drawing overhead power from a 25 kV AC overhead line equipment (OLE) system, it produces a continuous power rating of 6,480 brake horsepower (4,830 kW) with a starting tractive effort of 45,000 lbf (200 kN). Geared for operational passenger speeds up to 125 mph (with a design capability of 140 mph), the locomotive features an asymmetrical body styling with a streamlined nose cab for mainline speed and a flat 'blunt' cab at the rear for depot maneuvering. Originally named Terence Cuneo in March 1990 after the famous railway artist, it was unveiled in October 2014 at Newcastle Station carrying its poignant, custom-designed World War I commemorative "For the Fallen" artwork livery—depicting soldiers, regimental tributes, and remembrance poppy fields to honor railwaymen who served and lost their lives.

Operating a mainline express passenger service from London King's Cross to Leeds, the locomotive propels a matching set of retro LNER-liveried Mark 4 (Mk4) coaches accompanied by a retro Mark 4 Driving Van Trailer (DVT) on the rear.
