47245 & 47760 On Blackpool Can Can Mini Tour - 09th November 2024
West Coast Railways Class 47 Locomotives 47760 & 47245 are seen double headed heading eastbound along the Wigan to Bolton line at Crows Nest Junction at Hindley.
The class 47s were working Blackpool Can-Can Mini Tour (UK Railtours) from Blackpool North to Huddersfield via Hindley , Bolton and onwards thorough Manchester Victoria and then Stalybridge. The return runs back via Rochdale , Bolton and Chorley.
The train was running late having followed late units out of Blackpool and then timed unfortunately with units at the junction here . The train sounded wonderful about to make the climb towards Westhoughton.
Railtours done this like are very rare. This location is now awful to film from since the wires were put in. This was just a bonus mini tour having run from London to Blackpool earlier in the day.
I have filmed here before the wires were put in link below. My late Grandad worked in the signal box that was located here back in the British Rail era.
