Andania and friends at Carlisle then the chaos hits 05 August 2026
All seemed normal until around 4pm when trains started to be held up, terminated short and cancelled. All due to something blowing into the Overhead wires south of Lancaster. TransPennine express was notably affected and soon there were 397s and an 802 in every free siding and only Platform 4 available for through traffic.
We also see some of the Saturday evening passenger trains but otherwise the station is pretty quiet.

On a windy day at Carlisle, notable railway activity included the presence of LSL's D213 Andania on the S&C Fellsman and movements of various locomotives and carriages. Later in the afternoon, disruptions occurred due to an object affecting overhead wires south of Lancaster, leading to train delays, terminations, and cancellations. Several services were impacted, with some units seen in sidings and limited platform availability. The video also captures Saturday evening passenger trains at the station.
Fishplate has identified 33 locomotives in this video. We’ve also matched 13 headcodes and 21 operators . Create a free account to see where they appear, unlock timestamps and locations, and view the full breakdown.
