47245 Thrashes Wigan - 29th July 2024
The class 47 was hauling a rake of stock from Burton to Carnforth after another successful railtour. I was expecting D345/40145 so I was a little disappointed when a 47 came into view.
Having ran around 20 early as far as Warrington this is where problems began. The 47 used P3 at Warrington and sat there for around an hour because of some disruption between Preston and Lancaster. Avanti had to use P4 at Warrington is unusual.
Despite being 39 late and nothing behind it
Still runs along the slows from golborne as booked. She was right behind a northern device here. A nice long shot in the end despite the right faf.
This is a great hobby but need serious patience at times.

A West Coast Railways Class 47 locomotive, numbered 47245, is seen operating along the West Coast Main Line through Wigan North Western. The train was hauling a service from Burton to Carnforth and experienced delays due to disruptions between Preston and Lancaster. Avanti West Coast used an alternative platform at Warrington, which is unusual. The locomotive continued its journey despite being late and running behind a Northern service. The video captures the locomotive's movement during a railtour.
