Description
Direct Rail Services locomotive convoy of 68017 leading 37424 and 68014 are seen heading south along the west coast main line and through Bamfurlong south of Wigan on the rainy morning of Thursday 8th February 2024.

With the DRS class 37 fleet being withdrawn currently we are getting some drag movements to Crewe where they’ll stay before moved either for storage, scrap or a new company takes them on. 68014 worked a Carlisle to Crewe and back run the previous day. Typically she was supposed to lead the 37 alone but my bad luck another regular 68 was bolted onto the front. So still need a shot of that one leading.

Three unique liveries on show today which is nice to see. I am delighted that I saw 37424 one final time in her BR livery. She’s my all time favourite locomotive, I’ve rode behind her back when Northern hired in DRS loco hauled trains. I did film some clips on that linked below even with some shoddy camera work.
