WCML Late Running Trains Crosses Leeds - Liverpool Canal at Bamfurlong - 21st November 2025

An interesting 40 minutes of freight and empty railtour stock move action speeding along the west coast main line at Bamfurlong junction or Platt Bridge rail bridge Wigan on Friday 21st November 2025.

Delays all day long in different places meant the mainline was in chaos and for these trains a diversion route via Newton Le Willows was needed to rejoin the line towards Warrington.

I was on that line the previous day annoyingly which is a shame as these would of made it way more exciting. A good bit of variety of locos and operators.

This location is on the Leeds Liverpool canal Leigh Branch and I spent a lot of time walking along here being so close to home.
