37401 & 37409 at Bamfurlong - 23rd April 2025
The class 37s belong to Locomotive Services Limited and we're working a Preston to Crewe light engine run here having been detached there whilst working "The Chairman's Train" from Appleby to London reversing in Preston for 90002.
The change of Locomotives wasn't really pathed to happen until the morning light engine popped up. Nice to catch these beauties in daylight. I do like this livery but I miss 401 in BR Large Logo my favourite livery.
The official working today
37401 "Mary Queen of Scots"
37409 "Loch Awe"
0Z37 1427 Preston to Crewe H.S.
Passed 1431
Running 13 early
37s hauled the private charter into Preston and removed again so the 90 can take her quickly back to London. Light engine path only came in late and an open man hole cover at Preston platforms 4/5 caused slight issues at station.
