The steam locomotive was working "The Lakelander" Railtour from Hereford to Carlisle here running 4 late after a late departure from Crewe and stop at Warrington. 47s worked the train to Crewe before the steamer was attached. She would run north over the wcml via Preston northbound and back home via the stunning Cumbrian Coast.
57311" Institute of Mechanical engineers" & 47805 " Rodger Hosking MA 1925 - 2013" are the two diesal support locomotives on this occasion.
63106 Mayflower was booked for this train but seemingly a late switch which was fine having saw Mayflower 2 weeks ago.
