Locomotive Hire 60047 Passing Bryn on the Sand Train - 13th December 2025
The class 60 was on hire to DC Rail here working the Derby Chaddesden Sidings to Ravenhead Pilkington factory leg of the sand train. Colas Rail Freight 56049 had ran the train west to Derby from Middleton Towers earlier in the day.
Not often I visit Bryn as it's a 2/3 mile or so walk mostly up and down hill very little flat walking and lack of a direct bus. First time for 2025 seeing 60047 is a nice one to tick off I have seen her many times prior.
A very quiet station tonight I can't stand the classical music that is played over the tannoy.
