Northern Trains 323228 & 323237 at Bamfurlong - 08th March 2025
The 323s were on a diverted Blackpool North to Manchester Airport service here. On a divert as the line between Manchester and Bolton is closed for engineering works. Train did stop at Wigan.
Northern have been able to use 6 car operations after gaining the rest of the fleet from West Midlands Railway. 323s aren't common on this section of track so made a nice change.
I've always enjoyed the 323s are there distinctive traction motors. Only flaw is the seating layout and no tables.

Northern Trains class 323 electric units 323228 and 323237 are captured at Bamfurlong, south of Wigan, on a diverted service from Blackpool North to Manchester Airport. The trains operated with six-car formations following the acquisition of additional fleet units from West Midlands Trains. The footage highlights the distinctive traction motors of the class 323 units, which are less commonly seen on this section of the West Coast Main Line.
