33207 Passes Bamfurlong - 06th March 2026
The class 33 was hauling something a little out of the usual with London Undergroundâs preserved 4TC driving cars 76324 and 76297 I believe which were working from Carnforth to Southall running near an hour early after a pretty clear run down bar a small wait at Leyland.
I have read that the underground stock returns south after it returns from repairs after receiving bad wheel flats last year. Not often you see a 33 under its own power through here too.
The London Transport 4TC (Class 438) is a 4-car trailer set, famously painted in lined maroon livery for railtours on the Metropolitan line and national network, managed by TfL. Acquired in 1992, these heritage units (Nos. 76297, 71163, 70823, 76324).
Apparently they went by road up to Carnforth.

The locomotive is hauling preserved London Underground 4TC driving cars, which were operating on a special service from Carnforth to Southall. The 4TC units are heritage stock managed by TfL and feature lined maroon livery. The video captures this unusual combination of rolling stock passing through the area.
