The Cotton Mills Express - 45562 Alberta - 29th February 2020
LMS Jubilee 45562 "Alberta" arriving and departing Wigan North Western on a booked pick up stop on Saturday 29th February 2020 whilst working The Cotton Mill Express railtour from Lancaster to Blackburn via Manchester. Running a couple of minutes behind schedule the train heads away from a station stop at Wigan North Western but can't go full pelt as will be coming off the West Coast Main Line in a couple of miles and be routed across the Chat Moss line towards Manchester.
This is actually 45699 "Galatea" in disguise, complete with British Railways green paint and looks very nice but Dorset show up particularly great on my camera. The "real" Alberta was scrapped in May 1968 having been the last Jubilee class locomotive to be withdrawn in November 1697.
