The class 66 was working the usual binliner empties from Wilton to Knowsley and was passing through what is by road actually in Westhoughton but in reality is the Wigan to Manchester via Atherton Line just a few hundreds yards from Crow Nest Junction.
The line to Bolton is actually at the other end of this road too and is annoying much nicer and quieter to film for.
A location for me I'll bring my step for a slightly better angle next time I visit here. It's only another 10 minutes walk from Crow Nest Junction bridge or do.
