45407 The Lancashire Fusilier Chugs Through Ince | Buxton Spa Express - 14th March 2026
The steam locomotive was working the return leg of the railway touring company charter train "The Buxton Spa Express" from Buxton back to Preston running bang ontime. Extremely rare to see tours and steam trains down this line so I wasn't going to miss it.
This train had gone via the WCML to Manchester this morning under class 47 power before the steamer took it over from Manchester around Burnley and eventually to Buxton before coming home on another different route via Westhoughton and Bolton.
Just 2 other people I saw on the platform too may of expected more. Wigan be busiest id assume.
