Description
LNER Peppercorn Class A2 No. 60532 Blue Peter is a 4-6-2 ("Pacific") steam locomotive is seen heading heading north along the west coast main line and through Springs Branch south of Wigan on the cloudy morning of Saturday 26th April 2025.

The steam locomotive was working "The Lakelander" Railtour from Rugby to Carlisle. Intercity swallow liveried 47593 had lead the train to Crewe before the kettle was attached. LNWR Black 57002 was at the rear making quite a colour sighting.

The train was on the slow lines to allow 1S42 London to Glasgow pass. We get a nice steady shot. I have filmed this loco at speed on other tours too.

The plan for today's tour
47593 & 57002 - Rugby to Crewe
Blue Peter - Crewe to Carlisle via Oxenholme
Blue Peter - Carlisle to Carnforth via Barrow
47593 & 57002 - Carnforth to Rugby
Blue Peter light engine - Carnforth to Crewe

47593 'Galloway Princess' in Intercity Executive livery
57311 'The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' in LNWR black
