56103 & 60028 Grunt Up The Line at Ince Moss Junction - 20th April 2025
The class 56 was leading the empty sand train from Ravenhead Sidings aka Pilkington Glass factory at St Helens to Derby's Chaddesden Sidings.
56103 and 56301 hauled the train from Middleton Towers to Derby before being switched for 60028.
60028 is sporting a unique blue livery with billboard "Cappagh" titles reflecting the parent company of DCR following their takeover a few years back.
60028 must of had some kind of issues as 56103 had ran light engine on the Sunday to St Helens 3 hours or so earlier to this passing me her to rescue the train potentially.
Very unusual to see top and tailed freight trains operated by class 56 and 60 locomotives. Can't beat the good old grunt of diesel power.
