Description
Lumo Class 222 meridian 222002 is seen creeping north along the west coast main line and through Springs Branch south of Wigan on the afternoon of Wednesday 29th April 2026.

The class 222 was working a driver training run from Milton Keynes Central to Preston which due to disruption wasn't cancelled between MK and London. This meant the train was running 3 hours + early a nice bonus sight.

Still wearing her ex employers livery of East Midlands Railway too. 1 unit has been painted ahead of the service starting in the coming weeks. Pretty sure the fantastic Steph was at the controls too.
The class 222 unit will be working for Lumo Trains from mid 2026 on a brand new passenger service from London Euston to Stirling in Scotland offering some valuable competition.

Planned calling points are London Euston, Nuneaton, Crewe, Preston, Carlisle, Lockerbie, Motherwell, Whifflet, Greenfaulds, Larbert and Sterling.
