Class 142 Pacer 142003 Passes Bamfurlong | 11th July 2026
The class 142 unit was an empty stock move from Carlisle back to base at Crewe having worked part of "The Chairman's Train" between Hellifield and Carlisle the previous day. This particular example wears the (GMTE) aka Greater Manchester Transport Executive livery orange and brown which looks rather smart.
LSL preserved the train back in April 2020. I have ridden this unit many times back in it's Northern Rail era. Believe LSL have another one at Eastleigh.
Hasn't been used very often. Makes for a a fun classic sight for me this having spent years riding them.
