47746 Calls at Wigan North Western - 27th October 2024
The class 47 was working the return leg of The Peaks Express railtour from Derby to Preston. Stanier Class Black Five steam engine 45212 was in charge of the train all day up until a needed reversal at Stalybridge for the final run through Manchester Victoria and home.
I had filmed the steam hauled morning southbound leg from Bamfurlong which can be viewed below.

I didn't realise until I was at the station that the train did a reversal having run a slightly different route to the morning leg. It's much nicer for light filming northbound traffic through Wigan rather than south.
