Description
A very interesting piece of timing means we get a two in one shot of trains heading in opposite directions heading along the west coast main line at Springs Branch south of Wigan on the morning of Wednesday 1st October 2025.

First up going south we have DB red class 66 locomotive 66139 working the regular Knowsley to Wilton household Binliner train running around 11 minutes late here applying some power to make up for lost time.

The main event being Balfour Beatty class 20 locomotives 20901 & 20905 with the drainage train.
The choppers in there rather smart white and blue livery were hauling the drainage cleaning train from Crewe to Penrith in Cumbria running bang Ontime with a little thrash too.

Balfour Beatty specialise in is delivering across the buildings, highways, rail and water sectors, our civil engineering and construction teams create value for our customers through a relentless drive to find nee and better ways to deliver.
