Transpennine Express Bi-Mode unit 802204 passes through Springs Branch on the warm morning of Wednesday 10th May 2023. These Class 802s, also branded by TPE as NOVA-1 sets were introduced into revenue earning service in September 2019 and will be used on services between Liverpool, Newcastle and Edinburgh running on overhead electric power between Liverpool and Manchester and Leeds and the North East whilst running on diesel power on the electrified lines across the Pennines.

Today we see her on a strange unit move from Crewe to Newcastle via Carlisle driven by Freightliner I believe. The unit had run from Edge Hill depot near Liverpool to Crewe before heading north.
