68008/68002 4z49 Daventry - Mossend - 17th December 2023
68008 "Avenger" and 68002 "Intrepid" head north along the west coast main line and through Springs Branch south of Wigan on the early afternoon of Sunday 17th December 2023.
The class 68s were working a Daventry to Mossend Tesco container train which is definitely unusual on a Sunday lunchtime. Reasoning is guess extra flow as supermarkets are very busy at Christmas.
Despite running early the train was held for 2 Avanti services which will always baffle me but at least we get a longer shot and can appreciate the incredible engines the locos have.
