The End Of Trans Pennine Class 68 Livery at Bamfurlong - 22nd February 2024

Description
With Trans Pennine withdrawing the Nova 3 fleet aka Class 68 with MK5 coaches. The locomotives are being reliveried back from the gorgeous Trans Pennine to likely the standard Direct Rail Services colours. This process is taking place at Carlisle Kingmoor depot.

The locos have always been owned by DRS with being on long term hire to TPE. Trans Pennine suffered from public outrage with the nose complaints at Scarborough and Cleethorpes. Crew training and the key factor that the coaches had faults like some sort of cracks in the underbody meant they dropped them. Very fixable which is comical.

Trans Pennine purposely leaving themselves short of trains when the full fleet arguably wasn't big enough sums up how bad the railways are. The coaches are being debranded with the likely possibility of getting used by Chiltern Railways between Birmingham and London.

Today we are the trio heading north along the west coast main line and through Bamfurlong on the afternoon of Thursday 22nd February 2024 working a light engine move from Crewe to Carlisle having earlier fan from Longsight running a few minutes early behind another freight train.

Filmed from the road bridge which was because I didn’t fancy walking down the soaking wet and muddy path.
