47805 & 47810 at Bamfurlong - 17th February 2024
The class 47s were working the opening leg of Settle & Carlisle Circular (Statesman Rail) tour from Leamington Spa to Appleby via the Settle & Carlisle line with the return carrying on north as far as Upperby Junction near Carlisle to return south over Shap and home again.

A British Railway Green Class 47 locomotive, 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013', and 47810/D1924 'Crewe Diesel Depot' are seen operating on the West Coast Main Line near Bamfurlong, south of Wigan. The locomotives were part of a tour operated by Statesman Rail, running from Leamington Spa to Appleby via the Settle & Carlisle line. The train was identified with headcode 1Z18.
