40013 Passes Springs Branch on the Settle & Carlisle Fellsman Railtour | 05th August 2026
The class 40 was working the northbound leg of Settle & Carlisle Fellsman (Saphos Trains) from Crewe to Carlisle with the type 4 running legs from Chester and back. Due to the ongoing steam ban across most of not all of the UK the 40 takes the train for a rare change from the steam variety. Even at slower speed she sounds amazing. 47810 I believe was at the rear too. The sun popped it's head out annoyingly was cloudy moments before didn't want that.
