Class 66 Mail Drag at Bamfurlong - 16th October 2024
The class 66 was working a Class 325 units 325003 and 325012 aka mail train drag move from Mossend in Scotland to Arpley depot just south of Warrington Bank Quey station.
I would assume this is just a partial move to a more permanent place for these trains to go into storage. Long Marston or even Crewe. Arpley could feaisbly be used. The class 325s were retired earlier in 2024 for high maintenance costs notably.

A Class 66 locomotive, DB Schenker liveried 66104, is seen heading south along the West Coast Main Line through Bamfurlong, near Wigan. It is working with two Class 325 units, 325003 and 325012, which are being moved from Mossend in Scotland to Arpley Sidings, just south of Warrington Bank. The movement appears to be part of a temporary storage arrangement for the retired Class 325 units, which were withdrawn earlier in 2024 due to high maintenance costs.
