Description
Freightliner Class 90 Locomotives 90003 in the Genesee & Wyoming Inc orange and black with fellow classmate 90043 in the "Powerhaul" livery are seen heading north along the west coast main line and through Springs Branch south of Wigan on the afternoon of Saturday 12th April 2025.

The colour class 90 pairing were working the usual Saturday daytime Daventry to Grangemouth container train which most weeks is class 66 hauled.

The train was running along the slow lines to a red signal here allowing for a nice longer shot to here the fabulous motors working away. Operating from 25 kV AC overhead lines and producing 5,000 bhp (3,700 kW). So very powerful. Dumped via the slows for 397009 working 1S61 1304 Manchester Airport to Glasgow Central. Suited me fine

Genesee & Wyoming did split from Freightliner in 2024 with no real clue weather the locos will get another repaint. Freightliner have at least 4 or 5 working liveries at the moment.
