The Tri County Triple Tractor - Sunday 11th August 2019
With the availability of Class 37 x 3 and coaching stock at Crewe from the previous days Type 3 to the Sea railtour, the Branch line Society takes great pleasure in announcing a short re-positioning move back to Carnforth, the home of West Coast Railways. With kind permission of WCR, our 3 x Class 37 will lead together from Crewe to Lancaster.
The train departed Crewe, picking up and setting down at Warrington, Wigan, Preston and Lancaster. Three Class 37s hauling a passenger train must be a rare thing on our busy network. All profits from this train will be donated to the RNLI, enhancing the total amount raised over the weekend.
Route: (single trip only) Crewe P12 (PU 12.13) – Warrington Bank Quay P3 (PU/SD 12.39) – Wigan North Western P5 (PU/SD 13.00) – Preston P3 (PU/SD 13.18) – Lancaster P1 (SD 13.45).
