37884 & 769431 Thrashes Springs Branch - 08th April 2025
The class 37 locomotive was hauling one of Northern Trains Class 769 units 769431 biomode flex units from Kilmarnock in Scotland all the way back to Alllerton Depot in south Liverpool.
The class 769 had been to Scotland for some kind of works. The train was held at the signal ahead which was tricky to film. The bonus is that we see her thrashing across the mainline to take the line via St Helens Central and onwards to the destination.
37884 had dragged 769434 on an opposite working the previous day which can be found below. 37884 doing a 420+ mile roundtrip across 2 days is impressive. She don't half get the miles in having been built in 1963 a incredible 62 years and going strong.
