The class 66 was working and aggregates train with a not quite full train working from Penmaenmawr Quarry on the North Wales coast to Brindle Heath Eurofreight near Salford.
I would imagine this train runs over a different route and was only running through Wigan on a diversion with a reversal needed at Preston.
Running early 16 to Springs Branch and held at signal for 331112 1N87 1339 Liverpool Lime Street to Blackpool North. Signal not cleared to really power up as she passed me.
