43274 & 43272 are seen heading north along the west coast main line and through Wigan North Western on the afternoon of Tuesday 27th September 2022. The former East Midlands power cars now work for Network Rail aka under Colas. The pair were working the usual Derby to Carlisle test train routed via the Cumbrian Coast.

I had rushed back onto the station following a appointment and didn't gamble on Avanti running ok ish to be on the other side. My earlier visit captured 70000 Britannia on the lakes express tour a link to that is found below in much better weather.
